and
Just use a sea creature (Mermaid, crab, fish, etc) for your project.

Here is my project-

This simple card is done with the Etsy Sea Buddies at Kitty Bee Designs  (if something is not in the store, make a request). I cut masks for the Jellyfish and used my Copic markers & compressor to make the background. I used Y000 and Y00 to color the jelly fish, and added Nuvo drops of white glitter to resemble bubbles. The sentiment is from Pip Squeak by Paper Smooches, stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

U is for Umbrella

Woo Hoo! Today I'm a guest designer at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge this time is "U is for Umbrellas". Since I love making funny cards, I came up with this idea-

When given the challenge, my first thought was of umbrella drinks-hmmm, maybe I shouldn't admit that? I cut this Pina Colada with my Cricut (Mixed Drinks) with scraps of cardstock from my stash, and added the sentiment from Artistic Impressions Wine Diva's set. The background paper was from my stash, and have no idea who it is from.

This will make a great birthday card for one of my girlfriends.

Have a great day!

Hello! Today is my Spotlight day at Kitty Bee Designs, and here is my project-

  1. Image: Cow Barely Over The Moon (Kitty Bee Designs), colored with Copics.
  2. Stamp: sentiment (Viva Las Vegas Stamps), Versafine Black Onyx ink.

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Zig Zag Challenge

At the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, its a Zig Zag Challenge!

Here is my project I'm entering-

So, I dug through mountains (OK, mole hills) of papers and found this cool cardstock out of the White Ginger DCWV paper pad. The lady is from Artistic Impression Wine Diva set, colored with Copics (I even made her dress Zig Zag!). The sentiment is from Artistic Impression also, but a stand alone stamp. I used MFT stitched rectangles and fishtail banners for the image and sentiment. I even found some ric-rac in one of my sewing stashes!

This will go to a friend who is having a hard time aging, from her friend who is having a hard time losing weight! LOL.

Thanks for visiting!

Paper: Cosmo Cricket (OLLLDDD!) My New Years Resolution is to use up my patterned paper, or donate it to a good cause.
Image: Cupcake Suprise, Kitty Bee Designs, colored with Copics.
Dies: stitched inside out ovals (My Favorite Things), woof (Little B).

The "woof" sentiment was cut three times and layered to give more dimension. The red panel was also popped up to add interest.

Thanks for visiting!

At Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, this weeks challenge is "Farm Life". Here is a card I made:

In a couple of months, I will be helping a friend of mine show her Murray Gray cattle regional cow shows. The Murray Grays are really dark gray with beautiful dapples. They produce more meat on the hoof, on 1/3 of a normal cow ration! I've made a couple of these for her to use when she needs a Thank you card. The whole card was actually inspired by the tiny cowbells I found in a drawer! Here is the recipe:

  1. Country Life Cartridge-countryside (cut at 3"), cow (cut at 3 3/4")
  2. Artiste Cartridge-clouds (cut at 1 1/2" & 3/4"). I printed the sentiment (Drygulf font) onto white cardstock, then used the Center Point feature to cut the large Cloud.
  3. Tie twine around cowbell, then attach to back of cow die cut.
I really like this card-I hope she does too!

SoSS Naughty Christmas

I have been working on getting an entry in on Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Naughty Christmas, and I think I've come up with an idea-

I haven't put a sentiment inside yet, but I have ideas! For a good female friend, something like "Details! I want details!", or "Friends need to know before Santa does!". Now if I had the guts to send this to an enemy, I would put something like "But then again, who doesn't." or "Gee, suprise, suprise."
The kraft patterned paper is from My Minds Eye Paper Bag collection, the red poinsettia cs is from DCVW 6 x 6 Holiday Jewel Mat Stack, mounted on a kraft card base. This gorgeous image is from Graphics Fairy. The sentiment is from Hero Arts Offbeat Christmas Messages, and are a real hoot!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Hello! Today is my Spotlight day at Kitty Bee Designs, and I want to share with you this adorable image, from the Etsy store-

This is the Ty The Tiger, and isn't he just the cutest little guy? I colored him with my Prismascolor pencils after the image was foiled. The image was fussy cut, and I added a Spellbinders Sentiment One (Happy Birthday) die. The background paper is Brusho's Watercolors, and the other papers are from my scrap stash. The striped washi tape I bought at Christmas, but of course I don't know who made it! The gold dots in the lower right hand corner are a happy accident! I used Liquid Pearls Gold Pearl to make dots, and they were kinda blobby. I snapped the paper down a couple of times and they flattened out into perfect circles-which of course, I can't replicate to save my life!

Have a wonderful New Years Day!

Thanks for visiting!

Guest Designer at SoSS!

The challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is-

and to make a card that features an animal! Several ways you can interpret that, and here is mine-

I have a sister who is Vegan, who I would give this to-but not my friend who raises cattle! A very simple card, the sentiment is by A Muse Studio, the cow a Cricut cut, and some OLD paper that is in the unknown pile. I need to think something up that's snarky for the inside, like "Since cows are vegan, and I eat cows, I'm a vegan too!". Or something like that.

Now I know you all can do a lot better than I did-so get busy and join the challenge!

Kitty Bee Spotlight-December

Hello! Today is my Spotlight day at Kitty Bee Designs, and I want to share with you this adorable image, from the Etsy store-

This is the Santa Kal-Bee Digital Christmas Cow, and isn't he just the cutest little guy? I colored him with my Copics, and added Amplify by Neon for the "fur" (it's a liquid that "puffs" up when hit with a heat gun). The image was cut with a Little B die, and the Lawn Fawn Winter Scripty Stamps (& dies) are the perfect sentiment. The paper is from My Mind's Eye Brown Paper Bag Christmas stack. The red ink on the sentiment is Candied Apple Distress Oxide.

Industrial Tree

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers always have great and unusual challenges, and I'm playing along this week because I struggle with Steampunk!

SoSS #98 - I is for Industrial

Here is my project-

This card came together pretty quickly because it's a hodge podge of items that I made while learning new techniques. The background paper was done with Distress Inks and Deco foil over a Tim Holtz embossing folder, and I sure hope I kept the tutorial on it! The gears on the tree are paper clay that I used in a silicone mold (Mod Podge-I got it at Michaels) and spray painted gold. The clock is a Spellbinders die, and computer generated sentiment.

What can improve my Steampunkiness/Industrial vibe? Please let me know!

Welcome to Aloha Fridays Challenge #109-Anything Goes/ Optional Twist: Christmas! You can make anything you want, with the option of making something to do with Christmas.

And our two sponsors for this challenge are-

and
Kadoodle Bug Designs

Here is my project-

Did you know that Kaboodle Bug Designs has SVG files? Me neither! This cute & adorable Christmas Cow is so darn easy to make! I have a friend who raises Murray Grey cattle, and I always try to find or make a Christmas cow card. This cut file made it easy to leave off the spots, because Murray Greys are either solid black, dun, or silver.  Besides the cow cut file, here are other components of this card-
  1. Cardstock: green, red, holly (Michaels Recollection 2016), pink, vellum from my stash.
  2. Stamps: Winter Big Scripty Words (& matching dies-Lawn Fawn), Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink.
  3. Other: 3mm white foam.

Kitty Bee Design Spotlight-November

Hello! Today is my Spotlight day at Kitty Bee Designs, and I want to share with you this adorable image, from the Etsy store-

I love playing with my Copic compresser and learned a few things I would do different. The sentiment turned out the way I wanted it, but the main image didn't. So, if I could do it over again-I would trim the mask close to the big images only. I would cut off the thread and pins in order to get more color closer to the cat and pincushion. I also learned that if you take a matching colored pencil and LIGHTLY color the white areas, you can seamlessly blend the Copic spray and the pencil. But, you live and learn! Here are the materials I used for this card-
  1. Image: Sewing Kit (Kitty Bee Designs), colored with Copics.
  2. Dies: Labels One, Labels One Small, Fancy Tags Two (Spellbinders)
  3. Paper: patterned, dark green, white (unknown).
  4. Stamp: sentiment (magazine gift), Versafine Onyx ink.

This adorable kitty salt & pepper shaker image (colored with Copics) was perfect for the sentiment, which is from Sugar Peas Designs Smitten Kitten set. The dies I used are from Spellbinders Labels Fifteen and Blooms one. All of the paper is from my stash, so I can't give you a manufacture on the pretty damask.
