Guest Designer at SoSS!

The challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is-

and to make a card that features an animal! Several ways you can interpret that, and here is mine-

I have a sister who is Vegan, who I would give this to-but not my friend who raises cattle! A very simple card, the sentiment is by A Muse Studio, the cow a Cricut cut, and some OLD paper that is in the unknown pile. I need to think something up that's snarky for the inside, like "Since cows are vegan, and I eat cows, I'm a vegan too!". Or something like that.

Now I know you all can do a lot better than I did-so get busy and join the challenge!

Kitty Bee Spotlight-December

Hello! Today is my Spotlight day at Kitty Bee Designs, and I want to share with you this adorable image, from the Etsy store-

This is the Santa Kal-Bee Digital Christmas Cow, and isn't he just the cutest little guy? I colored him with my Copics, and added Amplify by Neon for the "fur" (it's a liquid that "puffs" up when hit with a heat gun). The image was cut with a Little B die, and the Lawn Fawn Winter Scripty Stamps (& dies) are the perfect sentiment. The paper is from My Mind's Eye Brown Paper Bag Christmas stack. The red ink on the sentiment is Candied Apple Distress Oxide.

Industrial Tree

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers always have great and unusual challenges, and I'm playing along this week because I struggle with Steampunk!

SoSS #98 - I is for Industrial

Here is my project-

This card came together pretty quickly because it's a hodge podge of items that I made while learning new techniques. The background paper was done with Distress Inks and Deco foil over a Tim Holtz embossing folder, and I sure hope I kept the tutorial on it! The gears on the tree are paper clay that I used in a silicone mold (Mod Podge-I got it at Michaels) and spray painted gold. The clock is a Spellbinders die, and computer generated sentiment.

What can improve my Steampunkiness/Industrial vibe? Please let me know!

Kadoodle Bug Designs

Here is my project-

Did you know that Kaboodle Bug Designs has SVG files? Me neither! This cute & adorable Christmas Cow is so darn easy to make! I have a friend who raises Murray Grey cattle, and I always try to find or make a Christmas cow card. This cut file made it easy to leave off the spots, because Murray Greys are either solid black, dun, or silver.  Besides the cow cut file, here are other components of this card-
  1. Cardstock: green, red, holly (Michaels Recollection 2016), pink, vellum from my stash.
  2. Stamps: Winter Big Scripty Words (& matching dies-Lawn Fawn), Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink.
  3. Other: 3mm white foam.

Kitty Bee Design Spotlight-November

Hello! Today is my Spotlight day at Kitty Bee Designs, and I want to share with you this adorable image, from the Etsy store-

I love playing with my Copic compresser and learned a few things I would do different. The sentiment turned out the way I wanted it, but the main image didn't. So, if I could do it over again-I would trim the mask close to the big images only. I would cut off the thread and pins in order to get more color closer to the cat and pincushion. I also learned that if you take a matching colored pencil and LIGHTLY color the white areas, you can seamlessly blend the Copic spray and the pencil. But, you live and learn! Here are the materials I used for this card-
  1. Image: Sewing Kit (Kitty Bee Designs), colored with Copics.
  2. Dies: Labels One, Labels One Small, Fancy Tags Two (Spellbinders)
  3. Paper: patterned, dark green, white (unknown).
  4. Stamp: sentiment (magazine gift), Versafine Onyx ink.

The challenge for the next two weeks are Kiddy Cards! Here is my project-

Isn't this image from Fred, She Said just adorable? This is Halloween Rosey, and she isn't scary at all! Most kids love dogs, so I thought she was great for a Halloween card for my neice (Her dog is exactly like Rosey). The polka dot paper is by Best Creations, and the solid paper I found in my scrap stash. I added green & orange sequins for a little sparkle, and the sentiment is from the Broom Riders set from Technique Tuesday.

Kitty Bee Designs-Spotlight August

Hello! Today I want to share with you this adorable image, Happy Birthday Kitty, from Kitty Bee Designs-

The whole theme of the card came from this spotted paper from GCD 6 x 6 pack called Sunkissed. I made spots on the icing to resemble sprinkles, and made the hat spotted with Copic markers. The image was cut out with MFT Stitched Square dies, and I used my Cricut to make the balloons and circle for the sentiment. The sentiment design is from the Cricut Artiste stamps, and the Happy Birthday is from Avery Elle's Thanks a Bunch set.

I always need birthday cards, so this is a great addition to my stash.

Here is one of my favorite projects from being a DT member at Kitty Bee Designs-

I did make this an Aries card for a friend of mine who's really into astrology. I thought it would be cool to make an actual copy of the constellation (drew it freehand) using the leftover stars from the Spellbinders Star Circles die. The image was colored with Copics, and the sentiment square was made using Micosoft Word, and making a dark blue fill of the text box with white letters. The background was so fun to make, using masking fluid and black and blue Brusho's.
To enter, please leave a comment here. Then go to Aloha Friday Challenges to enter the rafflecopter (I am a Team Kitty). And let us know if you have any questions about this giveaway celebration!!!

Happy July 4th!

Hello! Today is my spotlight day at Kitty Bee Designs, and here is my project for you!

This card features Ty the Tiger, and you can find him here at the Kitty Bee Etsy Store. I had used my image with foil and a laminator, and after the image outline came out beautifully silvered, I had another Ty to foil! I put a thorough but thin coat of glue stick on a piece of black cardstock, ran it through the laminator again, and had a solid silver kitty with black outline. I fussy cut him out and added a Cricut cut hat for his 4th of July celebration. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions (God Bless America stamp), and I added the stars from the hat under the sentiment. I used Color Box inks, Neenah Solar White cardstock, along with red, blue cardstock from Michaels.

Have a fun and safe 4th of July!

You are something special

Hello! Today is the start of the Aloha Friday Challenge For The Guys- so get busy and enter those masculine cards to win digi's from our sponsors-

and

Here is my project:

This beaver is simply adorable, and I used the sentiment that came with the digi for a Father's Day card for my father-in-law. This image (colored with Copics) and sentiment is from Every Day Animals from Just Me Digital Stamps. I used a Taylored Expressions inside/outside stitched circle on my printed panel, and added a background panel I made with Distress Oxide inks and a Cricut mountain border. I also cut the "dam" logs with my Cricut, and I hope it looks like the stacked logs that beavers cut down to make the dams.

Thanks for stopping by!
