Kitty Bee Designs Challenge #57-Buttons

Today is Kitty Bee Designs Challenge #57-Buttons! I had a blast going through several button boxes that belonged to my Mom & Grandmother. So many old and beautiful buttons, along with some wonderful memories. Today's challenge is sponsored by-

So make sure you enter our challenge! Here is my card-

Here is a list of materials-
  1. Paper-beige cardstock, patterned paper by Jillibean Soup.
  2. Stamps-Unity Stamp Co. (sentiment), Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous (dress form).
  3. Ink-Versafine black onyx.
  4. Buttons-stash.
  5. Sewing machine with black thread.
I like the texture of the beige paper under the dress form, and the old buttons and patterned paper remind me of vintage dresses my grandmother liked. She was a professional seamstress, and passed on the love of sewing to my mother, and then to me.

Thank you for visiting!

  2. Colored with Spectrum Noir markers.
  3. Paper-background paper from Coordinations Brights, lavender cardstock, white cardstock.

JAS Wedding Card

At Just A Scrappin' this week, the challenge is to make a wedding card. Here is my project-

Very, very simple to make! The white panel was embossed with a Cuttlebug Damaskene embossing folder (part of the Cricut Sentimentals collection). I cut the sentiment with my Cricut using the Artiste cartridge, then used a Spellbinders die (Labels 16) to die cut around the negative space. Then I  cut a larger die in a color that matched my ribbon.

The great thing is that the label shadow and ribbon can be changed to suit any wedding decor color!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers-F is for Fart Challenge!

I have the best time with the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! I was chosen to be Queen, and I get to be Guest Designer for this challenge-

Oh, how much fun! Here is a card I made for the F is for Fart Challenge-

Pretty simple card to make! I found both the Betty Boop image and the joke on the internet! After I printed everything, I used an OLD Stampin' Up word bubble stamp for the question. I used Studio Calico's Wanderlust paper for the front along with the yellow 1/8" ribbon, and the inside I used the same paper to frame the image and sentiment. Spellbinders circles die cut the window.

I hope you enjoyed this card!

  2. Die: MFT Fishtail banner for the sentiment.

SoSS-I is for Image!

I just had to participate in this challenge!! At Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers the challenge is I is for Image-no sentiments on the front! Well, I made a penny slider card with some OLD paper I found in one of my many stashes-

I have no idea who made this paper, but it used to be 12" x 12". I bought it to document some of the dumb stuff my husband used to do! The image is by Artistic Impressions and colored with Copics.
And on the inside, snark of course!

And boy is that true with nurses! Always poking and prodding you! Here is a little video of the card in action-

I took a video of this to show you how funny it looks rolling through the card -it took a while
but I finally got this sucker posted!

JAS Favorite Technique challenge!

The challenge at Just A Scrappin' this week is to use a favorite technique or embellishment. This one I just learned at my Copics class (Thanks Marti!) and have used it a lot! These were made in class as a tutorial.

I took a 4 inch square of white paper and centered a 3" grid of 1" squares lightly drawn with a pencil. I then colored 4 different colors into the 9 squares using my Copic markers. After all the squares are colored I took my Copic blender refill bottle and dripped out dots onto the grid. The smallest dots are added with a Q-Tip dipped in the Copic blender solution. I then stamped with some silhouette stamps, added the sentiments, and finished off the blue one with sequins in the flower centers.

Super easy, and it turns out great!

Kitty Bee Spotlight-August

Hello! This is Michelle, and here is my Design Team Spotlight from Kitty Bee Designs. I just had to try this Penny Slider card from this tutorial here at Die Cut Diva's-

Here is what it looks like when you tilt the card-

I laughed and laughed as I saw this little cow spinning!

I did learn that the bigger the round pop dot the slower the spin is, and the smaller the round pop dot the faster it goes. I had ONE round pop dot to play with! Here is a list of materials-
  1. Paper: white, yellow cardstock from stash, Reminisce Magic Stars dp.
  2. Two pennies, one round pop dot.
  3. Image: Kitty Bee Designs Kal-Bee Cow over Moon (contact Ruth for image!), colored with alcohol markers.
  4. Cricut: Artiste stamp and banner.

SoSS Challenge-U is for Ugly!

I've been recovering from a week in Reno, Nevada where we took one of our Chevelles to Hot August Nights. We over-served ourselves several times! So now I feel better to take on some challenges, like at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stamper's U is for Ugly Challenge!

Here is my ugly paper-which I have had for over 10 years-

At our now defunct Scrapbook Store, the owner would use papers for projects and what was leftover she would sell in bundles for ridiculously low prices. Well, you get what you get and I never found a use for this ugly paper, until now-

I just love snark! The paper is from my stash and I chose the brown ink and stripe to mimic bird crap. The image is from the internet, and the sentiment is from Creative Vision.

Thanks for looking!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers R is for Rude

I love the challenges at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers-they make me howl with laughter! And this R is for Rude challenge is right up my alley! I've had this card in my head for a long time, and I thought this would be a good time to make it. But it is funny, and some could look at it as plain mean. It's definitely rude though.

And now for the rude-

Image is from the Graphic Fairy, computer generated sentiment, and the razor blade is one I used to rip stitching out when I've made a BIG boo-boo sewing!

I've written several explanations, deleted them, write some more and delete, and have decided to just keep quiet! I can say I would never give this to anyone who might use it or take it the wrong way. You have to know your recipient to give a card like this away.
Personally, I would love to give this to a former co-worker who was the biggest, back stabbing be-otch and one of the devils minions. Oh, yeah.

Thanks for looking.

  2. Ribbon-1/8" pink Offray.

SoSS Wine Challenge

This is a card I've had in my mind a long time (or at least as long as I've had the stamp, lol). This is perfect for the W is for Wine Challenge at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!

Most of the paper is old Creative Memories I'm trying to use up (except the white and tan-out of the scrap bin!). I drew the jeans first, then cut the body to fit the curves. I used a white gel pen to show stitching. The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co. The heart rhinestone is from my stash also.

I'm also entering this at Unity's Friends with Flair Challenge!

Thanks for visiting!

JAS Independence Day

At Just A Scrappin', the challenge is to celebrate Independence day, and here is my project for my calendar-

I saw this paper (Pebbles Americana) at a local craft store and knew I wanted my July calendar to be patriotic. The bottle rocket and sparkler were made with Summer Celebrations, and both were cut at 5". The banner was from Celebrations cut at 3"-I just love the stars on the top layer! J*U*L*Y was cut with Chalkboard Fonts at 1 1/2". I tied the blue/white American Crafts twine onto the banner-easy peasy! Red chalkboard marker completes the calendar.

I'm also entering this in the following challenges-
My Sheri Crafts 4th of July Challenge
Bitten by the Bug Banner Challenge

SoSS Wine challenge!

I just love the challenges at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! Here is one card I've made so far for this challenge-

This is made with a Unity stamp, clear gemstones, Memento ink, and paper from a 6 x 6 paper pack from Studio Calico "Darling Dear". The color reminds me of a pinot noir!

On the inside I used a Happy Birthday stamp. Really simple!

Thanks for visiting!

JAS Summer challenge

At Just A Scrappin' this week, the challenge is Summer, and my idea of summer is being in the pool! Here is my project-

I made this using the water aerobics figure from Fun in the Sun, cut at 3 1/2". All the cuts were out of scrap paper, even the grey pool edge and the water paper. The stamp is from Technique Tuesday, and the rhinestones are from Recollections.

I love her glittery suit and dumb bell, don't you?

JAS Father's Day

I'm sharing a Design Team Project I did with FCCB with JAS!

Here is my project-

The card was made with the Digiplayground SVG File-Oak Leaf Pop Up card, out of Coredinations Chocolate mint cardstock, lime & white twine from the Twinery, and Cards TV "Happy Days" stamp set. The tag was cut out of the same cardstock with Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. The Ornament box
is a really useful box! It has 3 different inserts for money, gift cards, or $1 lottery tickets! I chose the money insert-

Here is what it looks like with the cover over the box-

and what it looks like with the band around it.

I decorated the band with some left over stickers (stash) and cardstock from DCWV Pet Stack and American Crafts (Ivory). My father-in-laws little chihuahua was in the vet's office for about 4 days with pancreatic problems & pre-diabetes, so my husband and I are picking up the bill for his Father's Day Gift. That little dog means the world to Norm, so I can't think of a better gift.

Here is a list of materials-
  1. Kitty Bee Designs-Sewing Kit, colored with Prismacolor pencils.
  2. Paper is from Crate Paper-DIY Shop.
  3. Sentiment is from Creative Vision. Rangers Antique Linen for distressing.

JAS Birthday Tags

At Just A Scrappin', the challenge was to make a birthday tag. Here is mine-

I got the tag itself in a goodie bag from Unity Stamps, which is also where the stamped image is from. The sentiment was colored with White Bistro Marker and colored pencil, and pink metal bling was added to the banner. The flower was from a blog hop prize so I have no idea who made it, and the ribbon is from my stash.

I do have a ton of June birthdays to plan for, so this will definitely get used!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Cake challenge

This week at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers the challenge to make a cake card, so here is my take on what one is!

This was pretty fun! This is a Unity Stamp Itty Bitty set called "Damn you're old". The sentiment on the envelope was stamped with Versamark ink and I used white embossing powder. The tag was stamped with black Memento ink with clear embossing powder. Ribbon is from my stash. I used Spectrum Noir markers to color the cake. I thought it was funny to count the flames as I colored them, not so funny when I'm the same age as the number of candles!

Oh, am I glad to be back at the Sisterhood!

JAS Mother's Day

This week at Just A Scrappin' we were challenged to make a Mother's Day project, and here is my card-

The card is from Thinking of You Tri-Shutter card file from digiplayground.com, and I used black cardstock, pink DCWV shimmer paper, white rose paper, Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Rose folder, Cricut Mother's Day 2010 cartridge, and unknown white glossy patterned paper (rose front). I substituted the "Thinking of You" sentiment with the "Happy Mother's Day" cut-remember you don't have to use everything in a file. Instead of the rose on the front, I can put any Cricut image there also!

Thanks for joining me today!

JAS Mosaic

This week the challenge is Mosaic, and I can tell right now that this isn't my thing! Here is my project-

The stamp I used is a very old wood mounted stamp from PSX (1995!) That I colored with colored pencils then cut up into squares, reassembling the picture onto black cardstock. The "frame" is a medium teal embossed with wood grain, and mounted onto My Minds Eye damask paper.

What do you think?
