At MFP's Simple Salutation Challenge, this week it's about Christmas! This is a Christmas Card I made for my husband-
The stamp is from Fiskars Jolly Holiday stamp set stamped in brown Studio G ink, the background paper is from a kraft stack, and the bird and branch I cut from Winter Woodland Cricut cartridge out of scraps. I did spray the background with Granite Glimmer Mist for a light shimmer. It didn't show up well!

JAS Christmas challenge
At JAS
this week, the Challenge is Christmas Cards! The challenge was to use red, green, silver & gold. This cards was made with A
Quilted Christmas-
Look on page 69 of the handbook to find this candle image. I cut this at 2 3/4", and it made the image almost 8 1/2" long! Cut out all layers and assemble. This was made with scrap paper out of my stash. The Gold shimmer paper is from the open stock at Michael's. I doodled the edge with a dark red Creative Memories pen, and the embossing ink is Gold Zing with a Fiskars Holiday Frolic Stamp.
I hope you are ready to create some Christmas cards!

Holiday Gift Card Holder
Hi! This is a gift box/card that I made to hold gift cards for my nieces using the Artiste cartridge on page 79.
I'm entering this in the following Challenges:
Bitten by the Bug 2 Holiday Container Challenge
Rose Blossom Garden Christmas Challenge
I
couldn't for the life of me find any instructions or tips on how to fold
this hexagon "box"! I fiddled with scoring different lines and finally
got it to work. Artiste recommends 4", so that's what I used and it's
perfect for a gift card. I recommend cutting a "test pattern" out of
your "I'll never use this" pile of paper. I actually found out I didn't
want a busy pattern because you can't really see the snowflake.
You can cut this up to make a pattern to dress up the box.
This
is at 1/4, which I personally didn't like, so I made a change in my
cutting lines to 1/8". Do this same procedure to produce a pattern for
the bottom. Trace 6 arms and one bottom to the back of your designer
paper and adhere to the box. I colored my snowflake arms silver for a
little shine, and look at how nice it turned out!I'm entering this in the following Challenges:

FCCB Challenge Use an Animal
This week, the challenge at FCCB is to use an animal, and this is my project-
This
was made with the AG Winter Wonderland cartridge. The stag was cut
using the flip function out of Gold Wausau shimmer paper at 3 1/4", with
scrap paper for the layers. The same scrap paper was used to cut the
sentiment at 2", with the addition of maroon cardstock. The white
shimmer paper is by Wausau also, embossed with a Darice snowflake
embossing folder, then matted with the maroom cardstock. Maroon ribbon
by American crafts completes the card.
I hope you like it!

A Muse Studio Birthday Challenge
This is a bright belated Birthday Card! It seems I need these more & more as I age-LOL! The challenge at
A Muse Studio was to make a birthday celebration project, and this is what I did-
I picked a bright striped paper out of my stash, and coordinated the ribbon and ink with the stripes. I used the Cricut cartridge Artiste to make the ribbon (rosette on pg77, streamers pg 55, flower center pg 32). The border separating the striped and yellow paper was left over from the rosette! I added a dark green rhinestone to the center, then used a Paper Smooches sentiment in orange ink before adhering the ribbon to the card.
Quick & easy, yet so pretty!

JAS Accordion Card Challenge
At Just A Scrappin', the Design Team was challenged to make an Accordion card. Here's my Project-
The way this card was made was by looking for tutorials on the internet. This one I found at Scor-Pal, but I had to re-figure the math!
Here is the steps-
- Make base of card, cutting 4 1/4" x 11". Score the folds at 1 1/2", 3", 5 1/2", and 8". Don't fold yet!
- Cut designer paper at following measurements: first panel is 1 1/4" x 4", second panel is 2 1/4" x 4", and third panel is 2 3/4" x 4".
- Attach dp to panels as shown. Now you can fold the card.
- Decorate as you wish! I used scraps of dp, and Unity Stamp Co. stamp set KOTM May 2012. I used red Studio G ink with ivory cardstock. To make a belly band you will need a piece of dp 1" x 7". I added a rhinestone flower to mine.

JAS Challenge Use Ribbon & Bling
At Just a Scrappin' this week, the challenge is to use fabric and/or ribbon, plus a little bling. Here is my project-
This card is the result of some Mary Engelbreit fabric scaps that I had. I cut the image out with enough fabric to fringe the edges. I layered the fabric onto some light aqua cardstock, which was then layered onto black cardstock, and finally onto the aqua & white checked paper. The edges of the papers were distressed first to match the distressed edges of the fabric. For my bling I chose black pearls in the lower right hand corner.
And if you follow the blog Moxie Fab World, you know that Cath Evaldson is stepping down from MFW. I can't tell you how much I've learned from her blog, the challenges, and her inspirational pictures. This card is a tribute to her. I'm not really that good at cardmaking, but I try hard! I hope it's worthy enought to send her off in life's newest adventure for her.

Day 11 of MFP's 12 Days of Christmas & CAS-ual Fridays
For Day 11 of MFP's 12 Days of Christmas, the theme is banners. I used my Cricut Art Philosophy to cut the banners, and then stamped the coordinating stamp with Versamark ink, then embossed with gold. I also used the same cartridge to cut the letters out of gold matte cardstock.
I like CAS! The gold cord joins the banners together nicely! I'm entering this at CAS-ual Fridays also!

At Marks Finest Papers Tutorial Time, I'm trying the Faux Cloissone challenge!
Stamped the roses and sentiment with Versamark ink and embossed with Gold embossing powder. Colored the roses with Pearlescent Watercolors-isn't it lovely the shimmer it created?

Just A Scrappin' Pop up card Challenge
At Just A Scrappin', we were challenge to make a pop up card, so here's mine-
This is an old All Night Media Halloween set I used for the images-the skeletons on the inside just crack me up-and the paper is from the stash pile, so I don't know who made it. This is a great way to use those stamps aren't big enough to be the focal point of a card or layout.

BBTB2 Dog or Cat inspired challenge
I saw this Challenge at BBTB2 is to make anything inspired by dogs or cats-and here is what I made:
This Christmas wreath is made with cuts off the Four Legged Friends cartridge. Since the wreath will go outside, I laminated all my cuts and hot glued them to the wreath. Before I did anything though, I sprayed the wreath with gold glitter spray, and it gives enough sparkle for the cuts and bow to stand out better than if I left it natural. I also wired in jingle bells for sound and a festive look.
Thanks for looking!
ETA: This was chosen the Project of the Week at BBTB2! I'm so thrilled!

low and high lighting, Card 2
At MFP's Tutorial Time Challenge, it's all about high & Low lights, and here is my 2nd project-
If you would like to learn how to do this, the challenge and tutorial are HERE. I used Paper Smooches rose stamp, MFP's Out West Words (Happy Birthday). I LOVE this tutorial and I'll be using this technique a whole bunch more!
Other supplies are Versamark Ink, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, white embossing powders, cardstock (orange, green, white), white satin ribbon.
Since this is quite colorful, I'm also entering this at Moxie Fab World Color Media Challenge.

Moxie Fab Challenge
I've created a project for the Ready-Made Embellishment Challenge in the Moxie Fab World and I encourage you to play along as well! Here is my card-
The paper is from Teresa Collins Memorabilia line, flowers from Prima, pearls from Kaisercraft, and white thread & my sewing machine.
The size of my pearls looked way to small for the flower, so I added the &*$#@ tiny pearls around the center-it added a whole new look to the flower!
Thanks for stopping by!

JAS Critter Challenge
The challenge at Just A Scrappin' this week is to create a card or layout using animals as the theme, and here is my project:
I used Four Legged Friends cartridge for this. Here are the steps:
I used Four Legged Friends cartridge for this. Here are the steps:
- Fish Bowl cuts at 7 1/2" out of the following card stocks: 2 White bases, blue and white dotted base (which is not heavy enough to support card, so a regular piece of white cardstock was used to add stiffness), blue water paper (old Creative Memories), blue cardstock for edges, black cardstock for base. One white base I cut with the Cricut Craft Room with a square I welded on to make the shaped card. After I scored the square, I glued it to the top base in between the dot and water paper. Adhere remaining layers.
- Stamp "Best Friends" above water
- Cut goldfish layers at 2" and 1 1/2" out of 4 different shades of orange-adhere all layers, add to fishbowl.
- Finished height of card is 5 1/2".

JAS Watercolor challenge
At JAS the Challenge this week is to make a project using watercolors-so here is my card-
I have never gotten the hang of watercolors. The background is watercolor paper with watercolor pencils. It's OK, but not spectacular by any means! In fact, I was so unhappy with this card I signed up for a watercolor class. I will be practicing until I can do a decent job!

Fall inspired Masculine card
My brothers birthday is coming up, so I sat down and made a card for him. Of course, it didn't hurt that I want to enter a couple of challenges too!
The card was made with OLD Creative Memories papers, Kraft paper I ran thru a crimper, a CM sticker, and scrap paper I stamped the sentiment on. The brad is actually dark brown-I have no clue why it looks dark green!
I believe that this is eligible for the following challenges:
MFP FOSTV Challenge-make a masculine card

A Muse Studio Fall Challenge
The Challenge at Amuse Studio is to celebrate Fall. Here is my project-
The background & sentiment mat paper is some old Creative Memories two sided paper I've had for YEARS! I stamped the sentiment (Technique Tuesdays) onto a beige paper in Moss green. The leaves I cut out with the Cricut Cartridge Mothers Day Bouquet. I inked the back of the leaves with Watermark ink, then used chalks to add fall colors. Adding veins was easy with a Sakura Stardust Jelly Roll pen, arranged the leaves falling down on the left hand side, and added a brown sheer Offray ribbon in the center.
I love how this turned out!

A Muse Studio Back to School Challenge
I love the challenges at A Muse Studio-they really challenge me to do something different, like my project here-
This was done with a Paper Smooches set called "Smarty Pants". I just made my own DP, colored the images with Tombow markers, matted it onto black cardstock, then adhered the panels to a light orange striped paper. Ribbon by Offray, and sentiment base is a Spellbinders Die. A bit of orange bling by the sentiment and I was done.
I hope you like it!

Let's Get Wet!
I saw this challenge at BBTB2 called Let's Get Wet-here is my card!
If you click on the picture, it should make it large enough to read the sentiment in the sun, which says "100% Summer Fun". The sun stickers, orange boat paper and the sky paper are from Creative Memories. The beach is sandpaper, and the ocean is blue wave holographic paper from Wal-Mart. The sailboat was made with the Just Because Cricut Cartridge, cut at 2". I used a toothpick to attach the sails (scrap paper) and the pennant (scrap), then glued in place. The pennant got a Lime Stickle treatment.
I hope you are enjoying the rest of summer!
